(Jackson, MI) - Brian Rooney, candidate for Congress, released a statement following the murder of Jackson Police Officer James Bonneau:
Officer Bonneau served his community courageously and honorably. It is always difficult to see a life cut short by such a despicable act, but we are thankful for his love of serving others and protecting the community. My thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of James Bonneau this day and I pray that they find comfort in the face of this horrible event.
Officer Bonneau was killed in the line of duty on March 9, 2010 after responding to a domestic disturbance report. He was 26 years old.
